ELITE RACING INFO

HOME OF THE 2010 NEW YORK STATE TEAM CHAMPIONS- ELITE RACING

header

See Below for upcoming events in February 2012.

We would like to make you aware that a lot of our memberships will expire at the end of December. If you plan to race while we are closed and need to renew PLEASE remember to write "New Paltz BMX" (or your home track's name) in the "credit my membership to" field. (see  below  for the exact spot to write this). Local tracks now earn points for renewals as well as new memberships. These points are how USABMX awards multi-point races. It is very important to the local track that their riders know that you can renew anywhere and credit it to their "home" track.
The home track is where you do your riding and training each week. Who answers your questions, runs around with your kids, and helps with bike issues. PLEASE make sure you give them the credit for your renewal. It will ensure multi-point races are held here at New Paltz BMX or your home track in the upcoming season.
THANK YOU!!

You can now renew online through USABMX's website

(and still credit New Paltz with your renewal) at http://web.usabmx.com/

We had such a great time at the Halloween Race! Relay races were a blast- We learned that some of our racers don't just peddle their bikes fast!! And to the "older" group- you are the best sports out there- hidden gloves, knotted sweatshirts, tangled bikes in the tower couldn't stop you!!! In fact Kyle was so fast I didn't even see him finish :O VERY Entertaining!

WOW!! THANK YOU RIDERS AND FAMILIES FOR AN AMAZING DAY AT OUR

1st ANNUALFALL FOLIAGE SHOWDOWN!!

After a week of rain the track was whipped into shape early this morning (thank you to the many hands that helped) We had a few sprinkles right before races were to start but they quickly passed. And the action began-
We had 42 motos with over 130 riders at our 1st Annual Fall Foliage Race! Racers came from NY, CT, NJ, MA, MO, NC, and VT. The 28 riders (many of whom ride for Zero Tolerence) that came down from MA. were invited to ride the parade lap.
We so enjoyed awarding the riders tons of prizes-
Congratulations Brady B. for winning the Grand Prize! There is nothing like making an eight year old's day-
Results of the 16-23 year old Dash- 1st Javery H. from VT. 2nd Jay J. from MA. then NP's own Nick F. Scott M. & Scott D. with 3rd, 4th & 5th.
Javery took the hole shot and wound up with a $160 dollar win.
Jay J. took home $50 from the dash AND also won $75 for winning a mystery main - Nice work Jay!!
Alex E. won the mountain bike open and also a mystery Main- He told us it took him 28 years to bring home his 1st BMX paycheck- Congratulations!!
We had 20 riders names pulled for giveaways and 10 riders Won mystery main prizes for a total of $1250 WOW!!
No one calls the races like Lou Mota- he brought his enthusiasm and humor and made the day that much funner--
We have to thank our money sponsors: Jeff Badendyck's Co-rect Construction, Ohioville fence Co, and Mountainview Woodworking.
Also the folks that helped with donating food and prizes: Bicycle Depot, Prospect Hill Orchards, Comperetto Bakery, Milton True Value Hardware, Mcgillicuddy’s, Tantillo’s Farm Market and our very special New Paltz BMX Bakers.
And of course the people that made this happen- our truly amazing volunteer crew- New Paltz BMX hosted 4 major races this season (3 in rainy conditions). Each one was better than the last- you are phenomenal.

Mark your calendars all----- we WILL be doing this again next year!

We had a beautiful day of racing at our state qualifier today- We send special thanks out to Longk Island's Mr. Serviss for announcing- Awesome job! Also John Tobin for bringing out your sound system- WHEW, you SAVED the day. The Sullivan's for the help raking and sweeping Friday & today. We hope our campers enjoyed themselves. It was great to offer racing to the families whose tracks have been destroyed and came to spend the weekend with us. Please come again- You all made this a great event and reminded us that BMXers are just plain great people!! See you on the 24th!!

The Final NBL Grand Nationals are in the books- the end of the "Grands" in Louisville, Kentucky. New Paltz BMX had over 16 riders attend this year with 9 making the main events. That is amazing! New Paltz BMX racers ride with their heart and it shows! Be proud of your accomplishments- we are proud of you!

Many of us have pulled all nighters to get there, cheered on our riders, cried when they finished well, wiped away tears when they didn't, made new friends, and met up with our old friends. We bought slushies and lemonades, passes to the bouncy houses, new gear, and parts for the bikes, event T-shirts and airbrush tatooes. We've lost our voices cheering on our riders and team-mates. We've taught and learned lessons on good sportsmanship. We've watched our riders graciously cheer for the friends that advanced when they didn't.

We've seen kids get autographs and advice from their heroes. We've oooohed and aaahhhed as our favorite pro's flew throught the air and crinched when they fell.

We've all felt the emotions that go with victory and defeat..... hope, nervousness, pride, disappointment, joy... the list goes on.

We've crammed all the bikes, gear and stuff we bought back into the car/trailer/ camper. Sometimes wondering what or who we would need to leave behind to get it all in. Then pulled another all nighter to get the kids back for school on Tuesday. Some of us have done this for years and some just once. We've done it for the love of our kids, spouses, siblings, even our parents. We've done it for the love of B M X and the friends we've made.

The "Grands" has always been something to look forward to, to plan for, train for and dream about.

Thank you NBL for the years of great times in Louisville-

We had 39 riders come out for our StileIndustries BMX Camp July 18-19. What a great experience they had. The instructors were awesome. They were instructed on passing, manualing, and gate starts. We look forward to seeing the riders use their new skills!
